This morning, The Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, accompanied by the Regional Minister Arantxa Tapia, visited the new facilities of Giraldo Food Group in the Goian industrial estate in Alava.
In his speech, the Lehendakari assured that the group aims to present the Basque Country as a place that invests and innovate, stating that the Basque Country is committed to the first sector and quality food, as well as to people's health and wellbeing. For this reason, Urkullu expressed his gratitude to the Giraldo group for the trust and commitment shown with the investment made.
The Giraldo Group is a Basque family business with an international focus that has been producing and trading pioneering products and haute cuisine for three decades. The lehendakari emphasised that the new facilities are proof of the group's dedication to innovation in food and its commitment to gastronomy, products, quality, healthy eating and people's health. “Your three-decade history is proof of teamwork, care for quality, versatility, sustainability and drive for innovation; your actions demonstrated your commitment to the Basque Country, to the wellbeing of all its citizens; you are a leading example", added Urkullu.
New 9,000 m2 factory
The new facilities of the Basque food group have a space of 9,000m2 and state-of-the-art facilities for the preparation of ready-to-serve seafood dishes with both traditional and signature recipes, with special reference to the great Basque seafood cuisine.
