The Basque Youth Observatory, of the Department of Equality, Justice and Social Policies, has organized a Course on the Design and Management of European Youth Projects that will present the novelties of the Erasmus+ Youth programs and the European Solidarity Corps in the framework of grants European 2021-2027. Directed by Jorge Sainz, a technician at the Eurodesk and Europe Direct Centre in Donostia-St Sebastian, it will take place from February 22 to 24; from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., by zoom.
Within the framework of the European Year of Youth 2022, the European Commission and other institutions of the Union have prepared various events and initiatives. According to Jorge Sáez, a technician at the Eurodesk and Europe Direct centre in Donostia-San Sebastián, “a new multi-year framework is being launched. The budgets notably increased in all actions and offer more opportunities to young people likely to participate in all these actions. Therefore, we will have to take advantage of them.”
“These programs help the youth collective to discover, learn, evolve and develop personally and professionally. They are very enriching and unique life experiences that help young people to develop or improve their skills. Meanwhile, they help other people, collaborate in solidarity projects or participate in different youth initiatives. A complete example of service-learning programs” details the speaker of the course.
The Course will give through videoconferences and addressed to a group of 20 people who will be able to register at the Basque Youth Observatory from February 1st. "It is true that due to the limitations between countries, many of the group mobility projects have been postponed, as is the case of youth exchanges or training for youth workers", emphasizes Jorge Sainz.
According to the professor, “in the spring of 2022 the actions that were going to be implemented last summer will begin to be developed. However, in the volunteering projects of the European Solidarity Corps, as they are individual mobility’s, some projects have been reduced, but, nevertheless, others have been maintained, such as those that guarantee the quality measures of activities and security of the participating people, marked by the European Commission in these programs, even before the arrival of covid19”.
The course will be online, with a maximum of 20 participants who will be able to register on the Basque Youth Observatory website from 1 February.
